CPSO Arrests Sulphur Man for Sexual Battery

On June 17, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding David K. Benoit, 58, 7135 Highway 1133, Sulphur, having inappropriate sexual contact with a female family acquaintance on numerous occasions for three years beginning in 2004 when the girl was 6 years old.

When questioned by detectives, Benoit confirmed some of the allegations.  Benoit was arrested on July 30 and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 3 counts of sexual battery; and 1 count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $200,000.
