CPSO Arrests Man for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

On July 29, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies spoke with a man, later identified as convicted sex offender Ellis N. Bartie, II, 30, 2013 Moeling Street, Lake Charles, at the corner of Kingsley and Elder Street.  Initially Bartie gave a false identification to the deputies.  During further investigation, they learned Bartie’s correct identification and that he had an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

Bartie, who was convicted of molestation of a juvenile in Calcasieu Parish in October 2001, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $2,000.

CPSO Deputy Christopher Daigle was the arresting deputy in the case.
