CPSO Arrests Sulphur Woman for Theft from Employer

On August 8, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were contacted by the owner of grocery store in Sulphur regarding an employee stealing from the company.

The owner advised detectives on numerous occasions over the past 2 months, grocery cashier, Melinda A. Istre, 32, 615 W. Carlton Street, Lot # 9, Sulphur, was captured on store video surveillance stealing over $500 cash from the cash register.

When questioned by deputies, Istre confirmed the allegations.

Istre was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $500.

Judge David Ritchie set her bond at $25,000.

CPSO Detective Glenn Lowery is the lead investigator on this case.
