Lake Charles –
On Friday, December 23 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint at the 900 block of W. Lincoln Road in Lake Charles to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.
One hundred seventy-eight (178) vehicles were checked; two (2) field sobriety tests were administered; two (2) citations were issued for no seat belt in use; one (1) citation was issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker; one (1) citation was issued for driving under suspension; one (1) citation was issued for open container; one (1) citation was issued for improper child restraint; and one (1) citation was issued for no insurance.
Joanna L. Leblanc, 44, Lake Charles, was arrested for possession of CDS I; and possession of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile. She was released on a summons.
Participating in the checkpoint were Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Charles City Police.
