CPSO ARRESTS STUDENT FOR GUN IN BACKPACK AT SCHOOL
Around 1:00 p.m. today the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Iowa High School in regard to a student possibly bringing a gun to school in his backpack.
The student’s backpack was searched by deputies and a loaded gun was found inside.
The investigation revealed at no time did the student remove the gun from the backpack while at school.
The student was booked in the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in a firearm free zone.
