CPSO ARRESTS S.J. WELSH MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT FOR THREAT

Lake Charles –

 

On Tuesday, April 4, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were notified in reference to a threat made by a student at S.J. Welsh Middle School.

 

During the initial investigation, deputies learned the 12 year old made a comment about bringing a gun to school and shooting someone.  The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing. 

 

CPSO Detective Clay Planchard is the lead detective on this case. The Calcasieu Parish School Board assisted CPSO with the investigation.

 

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
