CPSO INVESTIGATING SHOOTING

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On Sunday, November 5, at approximately 3:30 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies, who were working an off-duty security detail at a bar on Common Street in Lake Charles, overheard the sound of gunshots coming from the business across the street.

           

When deputies arrived on scene the learned a woman had been shot in the parking lot, but was transported to a hospital prior to their arrival.  CPSO detectives arrived on scene and began processing the scene as well as reviewing surveillance video in the area.  Further investigation led deputies to a home on N. Prater Street in Lake Charles, where they located the gun believed to have been used in the shooting. 

           

The victim was transported to a hospital out of town to be treated for injuries sustained in the shooting.

           

The investigation is continuing, no arrests have been made at this time.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
